What used to be a weakness is now a strength for East Ridge girls weightlifting team. A few new lifters added to the roster made a major difference in today’s meet at The Ridge versus Tavares. The girls went one-two in three of the four lowest weight classes, led by Sajery Negron, Ava Semer, Rashida Thomas, and newcomer Nicole Russi. “Nicole has amazing strength but is new to the sport,” noted Coach McCullough. “I can’t wait to see how much more she can lift when we get her coached up.” Sisters Karen and Jessica Nduese-Udom each took first place in their middleweight classes, and Arianna Robinson and Akyra Hutchinson put up some major weight as well. The PR bell keeps ringing for East Ridge lifters and will continue next week as the ladies travel to Tavares.
